Malefyane Mogale comes from an academic Psychology background, and by chance or destiny as some might call it; secured her first formal employment within the Archives & Records Management field. Within a timespan of over eighteen years she has developed within the field and has worked for organisations like the National Archives and Records Services of South Africa, African National Congress (ANC); National Research Foundation, Trans Caledon Tunnel Authority and the Competition Commission of South Africa.
After 15 years of activate employment she decided to follow her dreams of becoming an entrepreneur and officially established Lwazi Information Management Consultancy. She is the sole founder and also Managing Director of Lwazi Consultancy. She continues to grow the company into a service provider of choice that is detail and customer orientated and more importantly providing integrated services that manages both physical and electronic information throughout the entire life-cycle.
She is a very passionate about the information management sector and proving awareness and training in the field. She has provided training to many organisations nationally and internationally and continues to provide training services to the University of South Africa as a contracted Course Facilitator.
Her passion also extends towards shaping of information management sector in terms of standards, legislation and practices. She was a founding member of the South African Records Management Forum and served as its Secretary. She has close working relations with the Institute of Information Management (IIM) – Africa. She is also a participating member of International Standard Organisation (ISO) and is a committee member for both TC46: Information and Documentation of Archives and Records; and TC171 Document Management Applications.
On a fun side, she’s a great cook, “aspiring” wonderful mother and loves to travel.
